CBC Connect to Initiate Operations in Saltillo

The Phoenix firm provides metal finishing services to companies in the electronics and aerospace industries such as anodizing, electroless nickel, electrolytic nickel, copper, silver and hard chromium plating, in addition to precision grinding, plating and a number of corrosion conversion processes.

According to company president, Richard Burge, "our decision to locate a facility in Northern Mexico was predicated upon research that demonstrates a significant unmet demand for the services that we offer. This fact, combined with the absence of a Nadcap certified firm in Sonora, provides ChemResearch with an incredible 'first mover's' opportunity".

ChemResearch was founded in Los Angeles, California in 1956. During its history it has developed intellectual property that has been utilized by world-class manufacturers such as McDon

nell Douglas, United Technologies and Honeywell.

Powerbrace to Begin Saltillo Production

Powerbrace Corporation of Kenosha, Wisconsin has signed an agreement for build-to-suit construction, as well as for the provision of services, in Mexico with The Offshore Group of Tucson, Arizona. Powerbrace will occupy 70,000 sq. ft. of new construction in the La Angostura Industrial Park in Saltillo, Coahuila. The firm will produce brake beams and outlet gates for use in the North American railroad industry, as well as for global export.

According to Powerbrace president and general manager, Mike Weber, "the new Saltillo location will enable us to effectively service the railcar market throughout North America through competitive cost dynamics and a continued commitment to customer satisfaction and building quality products".

Powerbrace Corporation is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Miner Enterprises, Inc. with world headquarters in Geneva, Illinois. Miner has been a supplier to the railroad industry since 1894.

Little Rock, Arkansas-based CBC Connect has signed a contractual agreement to initiate operations in Saltillo, Coahuila at The Offshore Group's Manufacturas Zapalinamé. The firm is a division of the Carlton Bates Company, and is a manufacturer of value-added electrical products that are utilized in the construction, agriculture and transportation equipment industries. CBC will occupy 13,000 square feet in the La Angostura industrial park.

In addition to product, CBC Connect offers electrical design services, and build-to-print contract assembly capabilities to its clientele. The company's engineering and administrative headquarters is located in Miamisburg, OH.

ChemResearch to Open Guaymas Plating Facility

Phoenix, Arizona-based ChemResearch has finalized an agreement with The Offshore Group that will enable it to commence operations in 8,900 square feet of industrial space at The Bellavista Industrial Park in Empalme, Sonora, Mexico.
